Don't Go In The Kitchen

If you've watched The New Tenants – and hopefully you watched it all the way through to the end, even after Vincent (no, that would be a SPOILER!) - then you'll have a healthy appreciation for the importance of CINNAMON BUNS to the plot as a whole. Indeed, a recipe for Cinnamon Buns has it's own place in the closing credits of the film.

Fired up with VINCENT-HOTNESS, and determined to prove that they really CAN cook proper food, Jazzy and Lozzie decided that distance should be no object when it came to honoring Vincent's part in the Oscar-winning proceedings.

Lozzie overcame her lifelong fear of airline stewardesses and went by plane, train and automobile all the way to Bavaria. Likewise, Jazzy was able to overcome her lifelong fear of kitchens in order to breathe life into a whole new age of Anglo-German Cultural Accord.

Here's the film of the resulting mayhem/art as it was wreaked/created in Jazzy's kitchen. They're thinking of exhibiting the film at small, groovy independent film festivals in Europe this summer, together with a life-sized replica of the cake itself, made of fibreglass. The original having been used to mend the road outside Jazzy's apartment. No one will be able to tell it from the real thing.

It's called "Don't Go In The Kitchen".
An actress has been used to protect Lozzie's real identity. Camera: Jazzy. And no, really, they weren't drunk.

  3. I don't think either of you are a threat to the cinnamon bun industry :-p

Doesn't matter what they looked like, or even what they tasted like as long as you had fun..and, judging by the laughter, you had a LOT of fun :-D

  10. It's a 13 sized 'bun' LOL! Admittedly, I'm still not sure what kitchens and ovens are made for. But that funny looking icing (you have to eat it straight from the bowl!!) is soooo delicious and most addictive.

BTW Next time Lozzie comes over we'll build a tree house. Every Vixen is invited to join that Staten Island-worthy 'Tree Sitting'! Just bring your Parmie shades :)

  11. It's impossible NOT to have a laughing fit when you make buns and doughnuts. I wish I'd had a camera when a friend and I had a session. Well, how were we to know you had to dissolve the dried yeast in water first?

  12. I wish I had been there it looks like you had a great time despite the fact that the cinnamon bun looks like a flying saucer. I laughed until I had tears rolling down my face. Great video.

  14. My ribs STILL hurt from laughing. Honestly, the things we do for love, eh? Ouch. The pain.

I'm quite horrified that out of all these Team Thirteen regulars, not ONE of you has mentioned how the little dribble of white icing on the bun in the final picture bears a striking resemblance to ... well, you need to go back and have another look. SnarkAngel, are you not yourself just now? How could you NOT see the similarity??? :-D :-D ;-D

As a matter of record, the bloody thing once it was finished (and once the local fire brigade had dealt with the utter destruction of everything within a 200-metre radius of Jazzy's kitchen), tasted WONDERFUL. I guess it doesn't matter what a bun (or a person) looks like - it's the ingredients that count.

    Ouch. Don't make me laugh.

  16. I'm used to laugh seeing someone cook because of the kids we have in the restaurant but i've never seen something like that!!!

  17. Yes, dear Lozzie, I noticed the dribble. But I saw how small it was and knew instantly that it couldn't compare to a load from Vincent. Hee.

  18. Oh thank god you're OK SnarkAngel.

JAZZY! You have to post a picture of the finished bun! Honestly, it looks like it's been in the middle of a gang-bang. Or, simply, that Vincent has gotten himself VERY excited at the sight of it. Oh yesssssss.

As I had the leftover for breakfast I need to diet for the rest of my life.
