LOYALTY - MY ASS

COMING UP ON LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT

On the season premiere of Criminal Intent... A tourist yacht cruising the coast of Somalia opens fire on an unarmed boat, killing a sheikh and his wife. The incident sets in play an international grab for power, an illegal arms deal and a hunt for terrorists. Captain Ross finds himself at the tragic center of the conflict, galvanizing the assistance of Major Case Detectives Goren, Eames and Nichols.

Catch the Criminal Intent season premiere Loyalty, Part 1" tonight at 10/9C on USA Network, the only place to find all-new, original episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Blah, Blah, Blah, like after next week's part two of Loyalty anyone is going to watch Criminal Intent. Okay enough with the anger and on to tonight's episode...

Well could this be any more complex: supposed pirates off the coast of Somalia, a group of gunrunners, Ross accepting a bribe which turns out to be an undercover operation for the FBI; that gets him killed and dead bodies piling up everywhere you turn - who wrote this episode? And the coming attractions aren't much help in clarifying the plot.

However, Vincent was brilliant as always and Kate did a masterful job. The most touching section was when they are told that the Caption is dead and they go to the scene of the crime. It was simply heartbreaking to see the Coroner so distraught, she really did love the Captain. And when Bobby tries to console Eames that to me was one of the most touching scenes I've ever seen between them. It's always amazing to see Bobby take control of a situation, like not accepting the FBI's bullshit and insisting on seeing the Caption.

As for Bobby and Alex, they seem to be working as a more cohesive team, at least in this episode. The way they huddled in Ross' office plowing through his files and computer logs seemed so natural and engaging. And at this point I like Ross' temporary replacement, but that may change by next week. BTW - how handsome did our sliver fox look last night; I love every gray hair on his head.

Needless to say I have great foreboding for part two. My heart is already breaking for Bobby and we haven't even gotten to the tragic part. Hold on to you hats my fellow Vixens for I fear it's going to be a bumpy ride.

What's your take on last night's episode?

  1. I found this very hard to watch, I just kept thinking all the way through the episode that I'm not going to see this gorgeous man as Bobby Goren again. One part did make me smile though - *the lean.*

I will watch the next episode but I'm not looking forward to it :(

  3. I liked the episode, it was confusing but the first half is set-up, and next weeks half looks to be even more dramatic. I really wish they had the decency to show the entire epi at once. Ahhhh, but since when did they ever take the fans into consideration.

  4. I thought the first 30 minutes seemed a bit 'forced', I couldn't keep track of who was killing who and why? I hope they can wrap it up in a neat package next week but I have my doubts.

As I told Diane, I think next weeks episode will be the...'Lets torture Bobby as much as we can hour'.

  5. Thanks Jazzy for the caps - you are a living doll! I cried when he did the Goren lean and when he put his arm around Alex after they found Capt. Ross....bitter sweet. I am not looking for to next week. I KNOW I will have a giant box of kleenex ready. I am going thru a divorce and I feel like I am going thru another one with LO:CI losing Bobby...(this hurts more than my divorce)

  6. The story is "forced" - not the good old days kind of snappy writing. Thank God for the Bobby lean!

  9. I can't wait for it to arrive. I was tempted to stay up to watch it online, but I was so exhausted, and had work today, so that was that.

  11. Let's just say I find a man who instinctively looks for a screwdriver to be a zillion times sexier than one who pulls out a flash drive.

  12. Tess - I think you're right about the torture Bobby scenario. Next weeks episode could be a tough one.

drl59 - I'm so sorry to hear about your divorce. Good Luck with everything.

Haven't seen this yet, and I'm already TERRIFIED about what happens next week. As Tess so eloquently put it in an email to me; no doubt be the 'Torture Bobby As Much As We Can' hour....

  16. I loved the consoling hug to Eames. I loved the little Goren lean which I saw as coming full circle with the very first episode. And the only way I'm getting through this is by thinking that loci has been canceled, but we're getting to see a bonus 2-hour movie to be enjoyed slowly like a yummy dessert.

  17. Brill post, artist. Vince and Kathryn were wonderful. BUT where the heck was Nicole? Really hoped to see her just one more time.

  18. Wasn't overly impressed with the first part of the great send-off. It felt too rushed. I think this was a plot that COULD have worked, if they had just slowed down a little bit ... like they were trying to cram 3 hours worth of material into 2 hours. But what's done is done. I just hope Bobby and Alex both end up in a good place when all is said and done.

  19. Had conflicting feelings about watching. I was going to watch, but then at the last minute decided not to - realizing we still had one more ep to see the greatest detective ever. I'm with VivB - will watch last ep, but.... you know the rest.

Well, Mauigirl, look at it this way, at least we get one more glance.

    P. S. Wouln't it be fabulous if we, one day, woke up from this hellish nightmare to find that it was a cruel April Fool's hoax? I'm waiting.
