PET PEEVE

There are so many reasons to be annoyed at the USA Network, the main one being Vincent's leaving. However, over the years I have found myself increasingly aggravated by their ridiculous bleeping of certain words they consider offensive. Like anything that comes out of Vincent's mouth could be considered offensive.

Hey, I'm innocent until proven guilty. Right?

Such as pissed (really this is what you decide to bleep?)

Photobucket
Sorry, but I believe it was in the script. I just read what you give me.

Have you guys been watching the other stations?

Hey Eames; check out this booty call on NBC.

Talk about graphic language and innuendo. Good Grief!

Someone has to put a stop to this censorship nonsense on USA, if it has to be me, so be it.

Next time you decide to bleep something Mr. D'Onofrio has to say you may want to check out your competition and see what they have to say.

You're kidding? You watch other shows besides CI? Get a load of him Eames.

Here's to you USA; I'd tell you how I feel but I'm afraid you'd bleep me!

Stop the insanity!

  1. I don't get the "bleeping," either. It is a cable network and this is a show for adults. How dare they edit one utterance of Vincent's!

  2. What the networks allow/censor on other stations? Whoa mommy. Don't even get me started. Not only the language, but gestures too. X-RATED!! I enjoy South Park, but do you hear the language those little "Bebe Kids" wannabees use. We're talking "Primetime" -- family hour. Isn't that an adult cartoon? And The Simpsons? Like I ever wanted to see a kid, never mind a man, pull his pants down and expose himself on TV - unless it's Vincent or a porn movie. Let's not get started on Family Guy. What about the trash on WB? Those young actors say and do whatever the scripts tell them. So for USA (ugly, shithead, assholes) to bleep anything Vincent says, is just one more reason for me to discontinue watching them after next week. Badaboom, badabeep, badabing!!!

  4. It's not censored over here. We hear every lovely syllable.

  5. As has already been said, we don't get the bleeps here. If we did Hallmark and Five would need a bleep machine for the message service after I finished with them :-D

  6. I am soooo confused. What bleeping? Am I missing something? Are you saying the local networks are doing the bleeping. Or do you mean that the script just doesn't allow BG to say things like fuck, so he says 'fumbling' instead.

  7. Hi Mauigirl:
I don't know if they do it where you live but here in NYC the USA network bleeps certain words that are in the script on L&O:CI. Let me add that is only on the shows that are repeats Seasons 1 - 6 mainly; before USA started running the show on their network. It's really annoying. Hope that clarifies things.

I agree with you bobbybegood1 some of the stuff on TV is downright obscene.

  8. I'm sorry but how many times did I hear swear words and see Jimmy Smits and Dennis Franz' naked backsides (Ewwww) on NYPD and that wasn't even on cable!

BTW, does anyone else think it's Completely unfair that we never got to see Bobby's lovely backside...

  9. Absolutely Tess. Of course he's gorgeous from any side.

  10. Hallmark is the same. They fade the sound rather than bleep it, and they only started it for when shows were going out before the 9pm watershed. When a run was at that time, there were certain episodes they wouldn't even shoe, like Want.

But their worst sin - and it didn't matter what time it went out - was blacking out the shooting at the end of Siren Call, just having the sound. WTF?

  11. Me thinks it totally unfair Tess. But we have to remember that Vincent makes a lot of his own decisions. He said before that he wouldn't "do" a relationship on CI, and apparently he was adamant about that. Besides, we've seen his backside before. Remember the Velocity of Gary, Claire Dolan and others. Thank God we don't have to look at ugly Jimmy Smits anymore on primetime. I'm thankful for small favors. Cheers!!

I stopped watching NYPD Blue because I got sick of the sights of Jimmy Smits taking his clothes off *shudders* However, I'd NEVER tire of seeing Bobby shed his clothes. It's been WAAY to long baby, c'mon divest yourself of more than your tie ;0)
