It’s a brutally cold and rainy day. The dampness bites into every bone in my body so I go to the place that has always given me a sense of solace; the warmth and comfort of my kitchen.
Yes, I know some of you only use the kitchen for the occasional cup of coffee or tea or to store your take-out menus. Or when you do dishes.
For me when I think of the comfort of home I think of the kitchen and my family huddled around the table talking and laughing about the days activities. So you may ask “what the hell does this have to do with Vincent?” Everything! As I was preparing dinner I was wondering what ingredients would best describe the delectable Vincent. Maybe we need a book to document all his various ingredients and name it Vincent’s Recipe Book of Sexiness.
Is he a hot and spicy dish that requires some exotic ingredients like curry, ginger or Tabasco sauce?
Maybe he’s a sweet and sour dish that might need some yummy pineapple, soy sauce and vinegar?
Vincent as an appetizer – perhaps pigs in a blanket? Too small, okay pythons in a blanket.
As a main course – how about Prime Rib in au jus sauce with a nice bottle of wine, side dishes I’ll let you decide.
Maybe a dessert would best describe him like cheesecake drenched with chocolate & raspberry sauce (oh, the fun we can have with that combo later) or chocolate chip cookies with nuts, I can almost smell them baking now. The alluring aromas make my endorphins jump up and down and scream, oh baby!
I've just eaten - but I think I have room for seconds :)
ReplyDelete'Pythons in a blanket'! Oh Lord...I'm a vegetarian but I'd eat that meat. (Gee, that sounds dirty!)
ReplyDeleteSuddenly I'm hungry, but I'm not exactly sure it's for food ;0)
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
dessert..Vincent is always dessert..something with plenty of cream for preference :-D
ReplyDeleteEliza you have me thnking - Vincent as a cream puff, that would be tasty. I do love a good meal and what better way to end it than with dessert!
ReplyDeletea new meal creation: hot, creamy, beefy, sweet and spicy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Vincent would approve of ALL of these delectable recipes, but that last and final picture ... oh MY!!! Vincent a la mode aka Vincent a la nude! I think my temperature just raised ten degrees, at least! And I'd even settle for sloppy seconds! LOL
ReplyDeleteP.S. That picture of your kitchen is worthy of a realtor's magazine!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, that is not my ktchen, it's what I wish my kitchen looked like. In NYC unless you are wealthy most kitchens are the size of a large walk-in closet. Yes, sadly neither Vincent nor the kitchen are mine, I'm going off to sulk. BTW - sloppy seconds can be fun to lick oops clean up.
ReplyDeleteOkay, Artist. Forgot you were in New York. And yes, I am VERY familiar with the size of an NYC kitchen! LOL. Many are "pullman" kitchens ... very, very cozy ... but that would be fine with me, as long as there was JUST ENOUGH room for me and Vincent ... the tighter the squeeze, the better!
ReplyDeleteSnark - you crack me up. Well, you and Vincent could get real cozy in my kitchen. You're welcomed to dinner anytime just bring the wine and a little (or a big size 13) dessert! Yummy! A girl can dream can't she?
ReplyDeleteYes, Artist, I'll bring the wine and the (VDO) dessert!
ReplyDeleteCream puff, Artist? I like it! I like it a lot! I had thought earlier that a dessert would be good and I wasn't sure which one . . . but cream puff fits really well. It has a smooth, soft appearance--unassuming, in fact--and looks like it could be an ordinary pastry, but suprise! There's depth, there's something special inside that you would have missed if you hadn't tried tasting it.
ReplyDeleteSnark - it's a deal!
ReplyDeleteCuckooClockwork - There's something almost sinful about a cream puff isn't there? That rich velvety, lusciously creamy interior tuck tenderly inside as you said an unassuming (great word) exterior. Oh my, enough said if I continue I'll need to be hosed down!
I take any recipe that man gives;as long he is there to show me!!I do have a "sweet tooth",so desert must be very sweet!!;)))
