LOYALTY MY ASS - PART TWO

From the USA network Newsletter:

On Part 2 of the season premiere of Criminal Intent... With an illegal arms deal and a hunt for Somali terrorists hinging in the balance, Detective Goren, Eames, Nichols, and newcomer Stevens combine resources in an attempt to bring justice.

I'm sure you can imagine how difficult it is to type when you're crying. So I'm going to skip the analysis of tonight's script because truthfully it doesn't mean a thing. Instead I'll concentrate on three things:

That beautiful Kiss - what a tender and lovely moment between two people who have shared the good and bad times and have spent the last eight years as partners and friends.

Photobucket

That sweet hug - Vincent would you mind terribly if all the vixens lined up for one final hug and kiss goodbye? Seriously can you imagine those big beautiful arms around you. I'm melting at the mere thought!

And the final goodbye - heart wrenching! Watching Bobby stoically walk out of the Caption's Office. While poor Eames; near tears; places her badge and gun on the desk and makes a job altering call to the commissioner. Anyone who wasn't in tears by then is made of stone.

USA's big news - Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is joining the cast; really? Who cares? Honestly, I'm exhausted just typing her name. I wouldn't care if they had Brad Pitt and George Clooney joining the cast: NO ONE can replace Vincent D'Onofrio!! Well it was USA's decision to let Criminal Intent crash and burn - I love a roaring camp fire, s'mores anyone?

Goodbye Vincent, Kate & Eric it's been fun. Thank you!

And thank you to Jazzy for the beautiful caps!

Thank you Jazzy for bringing up the courage to cap this.I couldn't do that today...maybe not even in a month! And Artist thanks for the latest posts on LOYALTY and speaking out the truth!

How dare they discard them with 2 unwatchable epis.

VDO is right, he is nothing more than a toaster to them.

"Dick" cannot be without blame, he is too good a writer himself not to have ensured they would leave with an homage to their great characters we have come to love and admire.

Than YOU for your great work.....I loved it all.

  6. USA should warn the viewers:
"The writers of season nine are liable for damages in full cases of CRIMINAL INTENT and gross negligence without limitation".

    *Tears obscuring view of keyboard*

I just sat and read 198 comments at one site (yes, I know it's sad). By my reckoning 193 of them were vowing NEVER to return to what WAS LOCI.

As I've said before I hope USA Network execs are shitting a brick wall as they contemplate the ratings nose-diving. It's pretty hard to piss off an entire fan-base, but they've worked hard at doing it, and have actually managed it. Bravo, you bunch of tossers!!! Vincent D'Onofrio and Kate Erbe are waaaaaay too good for the likes of you.

    Wonderful post Artist.

  10. Thank you for the great screen caps. Those are memorable and touching scenes. They are the only memorable parts of the two pathetic episodes. The characters of Goren & Eames deserved so much better.

The writers had lots of time to come up with a graceful conclusion, and everyone involved should have known how important it was to do this right. That said, I could not believe how lame, disjointed and insulting (to both the characters of Goren & Eames and to their audience) these two episodes were. It is hard to believe than any TV exec could think it was a good idea to deliberately alienate an entire fan base.

I like Jeff Goldblum, and know he is in no way responsible for this pathetic and insulting story line. I had planned to watch the show continue with him, and probably will in the future, But, it won't be for quite a while, maybe during summer re-runs, out of desperation at the lack of anything else to watch.

  11. The final moments of the show were the best part of this fiasco, only because the fans did, at least, get a GLIMPSE of the the depth of feeling that Goren and Eames had for one another ... as well as their loyalty to each other. It was a tiny, shining moment amongst an otherwise pathetic dung heap. With good writers, it COULD have been so much more.

  13. Could someone please write a summary of what happened in the episode? It'll be years before this airs in my country (season 4 started yesterday...) I'm only interested in what happens with Goren and Eames and Ross. Could not care less about the other characters.

If you copy and paste the link into your browser, and scroll down the page, she's written a HUGE review of the episode:

I just saw a wonderful NEW name for USA on someone's blog (another unhappy viewer!): The U S(uck) A(ss) Network - love it!!

  16. Beautiful posts, they were just what I would have expected you to post for us. Beautiful, sentimental moments. Dick Wolf - kiss LO:CI bye, bye, bye! And having Jeff Goldblum and his horrible new sidekick in the episode just ruined it. It should have just been Goren and Eames. I got the same message from the Facebook group admin saying he was leaving the group and no longer watching the show. There is no longer loyalty from me for the show.

  18. Oops, that was me, sorry. Anyway, thank you Jazzy for the wonderful caps. And thanks to every one of you for being here ... without the Internet, I'm certain I would have gone completely crazy as this show met its demise. I am so comforted by you kindred spirits who all have excellent taste in Man.

  19. Beautiful caps Jazzy. Thank you for saying what I am sure most of us were thinking. A sad ending to a wonderful show. I hope the actors are aware of just how much we all will miss them. The Law & Order franchise lost the best, IMHO, show of their series when these VDO and Erbe (and also Eric) left. I am not sure I will ever watch again. I have the important, Goren & Eames, epis' on dvd and video...to sustain my need for LOCI.
    *sigh*
