Kathryn Erbe

In The Wee Small Hours
Original Air Date 6 Nov '05

The episode title is a reference to both - the time the murder were committed, as well as to one of Sinatra's albums.

Goren, Logan, and two of the suspects are Sinatra buffs. In one scene, Logan interprets a piece of evidence in the context of Sinatra's work, while in the squadroom, Goren interprets a similar piece of evidence the exact same way. Logan walks in just as Goren is giving an explanation to Eames and finishes his sentence.

One of best LOCI episodes and one of my favourite Sinatra songs, unlike 'My Way' which I hate with a passion, unless Elvis sings it (yes, yes, I'm biased in all sorts of ways). I heard something by 'Pearl Bailey' on the radio the other day. I was happy to know who she was thanks to 'Wee Small'.

  4. Sinatra was mainstream yet cool. I'm very much into the powerful punk versions of his songs (my parents may forgive me). Speaking of powerful... have to agree with you guys; one of the best eppies, lovely interview and yes, HOT HOT HOT!

  10. Love this episode!!! One of my all-time favorites! I love how this eppy confronts racism in the crime-solving community, as well. It is just heartbreaking. And the scene that Kathryn talks about ... in the courtroom ... just about brings me to tears every time I see it. The writing and the performances are stellar!
