This is my fucking business!

Today I saw something that made me upset in the first place. I viewed a VDO blog, where somebody posted private family photos of Vincent; all photos were taken by relatives of him. Thank Goddess that blog has not many visitors.
You might have seen some of the photos in question (many weeks ago already), you might have even shared them with your best friend(s). Well, I did.
I think it makes a big difference if you share certain VDO goodies with TRUSTABLE people or if you share with the whole wide web (especially when a little child is in the photo).
But hey, maybe it's just one of those paranoid jazzy things?

The blog owner there and her buddies say that it's not my business what stuff she's posting on her blog.
Are they right? Okay, everything is doable on line; it's the internet, you know. So yeah, everyone can post whatever, whenever. No rules, no consequences, no need to carry any responsibility.
But I'm not the internet. I'm not a machine. I do have a brain, a mind and soul. And sometimes I even use it. That's why I do know right from wrong.
So, hell yes, I just MAKE it my business. 'cos that's the way I am. Deal with it!

Now, a few more thoughs on this subject.
Vincent is an actor - does that make him automatically a "member of the public", someone who loses his rights as soon as he opens the frontdoor of his house?
If so, where is the border line between privacy and publicity? Is there a border anyway? I mean, let's face it, this is the age of internet - , it's not all unicorns and flowers, in fact NOTHING is private once you've turned your computer on. No?!

Vincent D'Onofrio is a man who gives everything to his audience - everything. He worked so hard once that he was hospitalised. He gives us everything when he is working, but the pay-off is that when he is NOT working, he is one of the quietest and least out-going "stars" that I can presently think of. He's very private, and the antithesis of outspoken. Shy, even. His attitude makes him so adorable.
But is it our "job" to protect Vincent's privacy?
Is it our "job" to concern, to care in general? To interfere in somebody's affairs just because we think something is wrong? Just because something SEEMS to be not right?
I think so!
But - again - this is just my opinion, nothing but the result of my own life experience.

As always, I would like to know your opinion.

  2. I certainly think you have a right to your opinion, but they also have a right to post what they want, even if others think it is in poor taste. But that's what free speech is all about, isn't it? The right to express your opinion? So, IMO, no harm in that.

  3. First off, you definitely have the right to speak your mind - that's what this country is all about.

As for the posting of the pictures. I'm very torn. I do believe Vincent absolutely has the right to his privacy without a doubt. But (here's the part I'm torn about) if no one ever posted any of these types of pictures - then I'd never get to see some of the cool and sweet candid shots I've gotten to see. And these are the shots that give us some nice insight into Vincent the man and father, not just Vincent the actor.

  4. Freedom of speech has to be everyone's right. And no one wants to see any censorship in bloggerland or elsewhere. The question is, do I need to publish everything just because I can? Where is the limit? And don't we have to carry responsibility?

  5. Since I don't publish anything, I don't think it's fair for me to make a judgment on what should and shouldn't be published. I do believe that if someone publishes something on their site - they take some responsibility for the fall-out or repercussions of publishing said information, pictures, etc.

I also know that the line is sometimes not always clear. I think there will always be things that are obviously fair game and somethings that are obviously off limits and then there are somethings that are going to fall in that gray area - and there in lies the land of disagreement.

  6. I think everyone has to find his own line. For me, personally, family pictures, taken behind closed doors, are off limits. A "No-Go".

Land of disagreement - good term BTW.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I totally agree with you on the behind closed doors.

It's one thing when it's on the street or out somewhere public. But in a private home - that's something entirely different.

  8. Well..it is a heated debate. I DO like seeing the candid stuff, just to see how sweet he is as a person and not necessarily as an actor. But. I don't think that personal, home-taken, private-family-moments stuff should just be thrown out there for everyone. I think it is up to the person posting to use common sense in posting anything. Hell, some people get offened by anything, as we all know. Vincent is an actor, so he is in the public eye...but he IS entitled to his private moments...same as you & I. The urge to see such things, is what keeps the market for it so strong. For myself, I would look at it as "Were this me, would I want this shown, if it was MY family"???

  9. For me it's crystal clear. If Vincent is at a movie premiere with his family then HE'S putting them out there, it public. But if they're family photo's taken in his home or on vacation...They're OFF LIMITS.

  10. Jazzy, you've seen how rude and obnoxious the trolls have been regarding our beloved Vincent, so it shouldn't surprise us if certain bloggers don't show him respect or consideration.

The Internet's a fabulous tool, but it makes it too easy for 'bottom feeders' to start rumors, destroy reputations, and spread their venom.

We've been able to see many (never enough for us, though!) candid shots of Vincent when he's been on location or going to do an interview, etc., and I love seeing them. But just because he's a celebrity, that shouldn't mean he doesn't deserve some privacy when he's doing family things.

However, the paparazzi of our time have changed the rules: no respect for any celebrity's privacy when they're in private moments, and the more compromising the photo is, the better. They get lots of money for their photos, so now everyone tries to 'cash in' with photos of celebrities.

On a side note, I don't know which blog you're referring to, so I don't know what photos were shown. I just hope they didn't show the ones of me and Vincent 'in flagrante delicto'!!! lol

Again: at least one of these photos is PRIVATE!!! To respect Vincent's and his family's privacy,
would you please take that photo down?
Bear in mind there is a CHILD in that picture. Some people sale those photos on ebay. For heaven's sake, use your brain and carry responsibility.

I'm sorry Jazzy, but these pictures have been around for ages on the internet! If Kuki chose to share them, it's her business. Besides, from what I have seen of your comments around the VDO world, you would do well to learn to respect Mr. D's private "parts" as much as his private pictures. "Bear in mind" he has a family with children who have access to the internet. "Use your brain" and be "responsible" in the words you choose to describe what you'd like to do to him!

Kuki, you don't know me, but I just felt I had to comment. I hope you don't mind.

  12. I have thought long and hard about this and I still don't think I've come up with a definitive opinion. While I have enjoyed seeing pictures of Vincent with his family I tend to gravitate towards ones taken when they've been attending events rather than the more candid ones placed on sites like 'Gawker Stalker'. All of the pictures on the blog in question have been around for a long time, but that doesn't mean re-posting them is right. I have to say the've always made me feel slightly uncomfortable, to the extent that I don't have any of them saved, but that could just be me and my freaky moral compass.

I'm not sure if any of that made sense, but it is my opinion

    Jazzy,
you speak of respect. On your blog Vincent in nearly only is represented as Sexopject. Over its penis, its ass and other parts of the body are written so in a common manner. Did you think times, where your respect is? Did you think times, if its children or its wife read that? Barrel you to your nose and let me in peace my work make. This Pix find you officially in the Internet. I white your problem and I did not do no bad, these photos on my blog to posts.

  14. You just have to read Elizabeth D'Onofrio's comment at there. She cuts to the chase.
    Children has to be protected!

  15. Okay, first we ALL agree that we can never have enough pictures of Mr. D. We love to see candid photos of him but, where do we draw the line on what is acceptable and what is not?

As a celebrity, Mr. D. KNOWS that photos will be taken of him in public. So, if he and his family are attending an event then, those photos are "fair game" to view and use, so to speak. As he has said, that is the part of celebrity that he hates......he's not anonymous anymore.

Now, when he and is family are in public, doing common everyday sort of things, then he knows and probably cringes, that photos will be taken of he and his family. Now, if the photographer or fan and ANY respect at all for Mr. D. and his privacy, they would ASK before taking the photograph.

Now comes the sticky part. Where do private and family photos fall? I personally feel that, if the photos are taken by his family or friends, then they are off limits. If these were posted on a family blog and some are now in VDOland, then I believe that these are OFF limits. The intended use of these photos was NOT for public use. No matter how these photos got into the public eye, the use of them is MORALLY wrong. Private photos are just that private. How would YOU like it if someone got a hold of YOUR private photos and put them on the web? Mad, Violated????

Any private photos should remain private.

Public candid photos should be ASKED if they can be taken when he's in everyday life....with or without children.

Photos taken during filming, are public, but, should get permission if possible.

This is all about respect and decency. Treat Mr. D and is family the way YOU want to be treated.

It all comes down to MORALS and each of us has or own. A public figure, sometimes begrudgingly, knows that photos will be taken at any time. Leave them some privacy. Be classy and pass on the "behind closed doors" photos.

  16. Gee,I have to say that I liked the pics and as far as I can see I'm not alone with it...But I feel as guilty as I can feel just watching them!
And as I saw Mrs D'Onofrio's comment on Kuki's page it send a shiver down my spine and I turned red and felt even more ashamed (in German it's called "Fremdschämen" which basically means that you feel ashamed in place of someone else - you know who-)...Gosh!She's so right...

I've been telling myself for years now that Vincent does NOT need my help, but, I love him (oh yes, I do!) so I can't seem to stop trying to give it!

There are two completely DIFFERENT topics about photographs being discussed in the comments, one group seem to be taking Team 13 and the rest of us to task for appreciating Vincent naked, which is not at all what Jazzy is talking about - at least, I don't think she is ;0)

IF some here knew ANYTHING at all about a certain Mr Vincent D'Onofrio, they would appreciate that Vincent LOVES women, and he's very happy that women seem to love him right back! In April this year he said - again - how NICE it was to get their attention. Vincent has done nude work in the past in his movies. So what?!! This is his WORK. If he was a plumber that would be his job, but he's an actor, with a LOT different of film roles under his belt. He has nothing to be ashamed about for taking his clothes off in some roles, and those females here (like me!) who appreciate he's a deeply SEXY man and like looking at him in a state of undress or whatever, have nothing to be ashamed of either. I doubt very much that 'Claire Dolan' or 'VOG' hold any appeal to either of Vincent's sons at the moment, but if they want to see them in future, they're available from amazon - or maybe their dad has copies ;0) Leila's mom recently appeared naked with a fish, so I doubt she'd be too worried about stills from movies her dad made years ago showing his perfectly-adorable butt.

I love seeing pictures of Vincent with his family. Clearly they make him happy and clearly they love him as much as he loves them. As Tess said, if he's taken his wife and family or just his children out to a premiere, or they're on the street and pictures are taken, Vincent knows those pictures are likely to end up all over the universe. It's when what are clearly 'private' pictures show up that I get slightly uncomfortable. For a start, I always wonder if Vincent knows someone NOT his family has got them from somewhere. Having said that, I'll hold my hand up and say I have been sent pictures that are clearly private and that's exactly how I keep them.I wouldn't dream of posting them because I try and think if Vincent would be happy about it, and if I think he wouldn't there's no question of them being posted. If I had posted them (which wouldn't happen!) and Vincent's sister dropped by the blog and left a comment - as happened at a certain blog - saying Vincent would not be happy about pictures of his children being posted, out of love and respect for Vincent I'd take them down in a heartbeat, not try and justify them being there by saying they've been available on the Net for years.

OK, I'll step down off my soapbox now (sorry Jazzy!)

  18. I, too, am a Vincent fan, and extremely enjoy his movies. It's not his nudity that offends me, it is the way Jazzy and many others publicly choose to "appreciate" his body that I find offensive. Once I realized what this blog is about, I stopped reading it, because I also believe in Freedom of Speech and if I find something offensive, I turn it off. The only reason I have now spoken up is that Jazzy has taken it upon herself to chastise another blogger for practicing her right to Freedom of Speech. I feel that was uncalled for, especially considering the topic has to do with Vincent's privacy, in light of the fact that his private parts are publicly discussed here regularly.

I've spent more than enough time here and I don't expect to change anyone's mind. I just needed to express my opinion. Bye!

  19. I'm proud that I 'appreciate' Vincent's body! He's Spectacular :)

I do enjoy the work of this actor and I am very much in "love" with Bobby Goren thanks to the fine work of Vincent.

I find the tone of blogs that focus on his body parts as pretty childish and seriously immature. I do enjoy screenshots from LOCI but the comments are so...junior high sometimes that I just have to roll my eyes and shake my head. Really...come on...grow up.

I read all the posts and it sounds to me like someone wants badly to feel like she has a connection with this actor and so has chimed in on the side of his sister - who does have a right to complain.

I really don't think your alledged outrage is about respect...just a sad attempt to feel part of his inner circle or family - which you are not.

Its not your business. You are simply a fan - a rather immature one - but still - just a fan.

  22. No idea who is your comment for. At any rate I'll thank you to be civil about the vixens if you don't mind!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sorry Jazzy I just have to chime in again. I think people complaining that we focus on Vincent's body is just absurd. Vincent Himself has said that his favorite hobby is fucking and his favorite body part is his cock...Clearly he doesn't mind talking about it, why should we?!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well said, Fuzzy and Diane! And excellent point, Tess!

Let's see, which of these would Vincent find offensive: fans who love to discuss the fact he's the sexiest man on earth and post his public photos to prove it, or so-called fans who like to post photos of his private family moments? We all know the answer to that one.

And just because someone wrongly posted a photo before does not mean it's the right thing to do it again.

Any man who has reached the age of 50 would love to be appreciated, admired and lusted over for his physical attributes -hell, all men of all ages would, for that matter!

Keep up the fine work, Jazzy!

  25. Oh my, I've been away for a few days and have missed all the excitement. Understandably, he is a "public figure" but there is a difference between "private family pictures" and pictures taken from his films and interviews. I think you have to view this from your personal perceptive - would you like your private photos posted on the Internet?
