THE INTENT IS CRIMINAL

I'm sure everyone (who is not living in a cave that is) has heard the news by now. Wolf the Dick and the USA Network made an announcement
that stunned Criminal Intent fans around the globe. Their actions were criminal and the intent was to ruin the show.

In an effort to "pinch pennies" so they can become even wealthier (because they apparently don't have enough money) the network has decided to
phase out the following characters - Robert Goren, Alex Eames & Captain Ross.

We all remember Ebenezer Scrooge, don't we?

If it wasn't so tragic I'd laugh out loud at the blind stupidity of their decision. Excuse me, but I think everyone at the NBC/USA networks needs a wake up call. Hello!! Do you really think your viewers watch the show for the riveting plots? The cinematography? The "B" Team? Get real! It's VINCENT D'ONOFRIO!! And of course Kate Erbe, better know as the "A" Team.

Excuse me; but I think it's me you're looking for. Need a flashlight?

I have tried to remain calm and above the fray during this whole debacle, but it is so difficult when you are dealing with people who make arbitrary decisions based on money and their own personal wealth. Mr. D'Onofrio is worth more than you could ever offer him so open your tight fist and share some of the wealth.

Personally, once Vincent leaves Criminal Intent I will also be leaving USA. I will no longer watch their shows and I hope their ratings plummet.
Save a little, lose a lot. In closing I want to say:

He's simply the best, better than all the rest!

  1. It really pisses me off that Dick (god what an appropriate name) and USA think we're stupid! Do they really think that they can get rid of the 3 main characters (2 who have been there since day one) and we'll be like...Hey, that's OK. What do they think we are Sheep? That we'll just follow along....NO we will Not!

  2. Great Post Artist. I think you captured what we are all feeling.

Their actions have shown that they really could care less what the fans think.

They are under the misguided impression that we will just somehow believe whatever garbage they tell us. We will not question and we will not say NO!

    Well said Artist!

This is Dick, once again proving he is one, but he's also the man who was happilty offering to 'sacrifice' LOCI on the alter of his beloved Mothership, and who seems quite happy to give his other favourite child (SVU) as much money as they'd like to carry on. He also seems to have short-term memory loss, as I recall Vincent saying Dick was the one who persuaded him to do LOCI in the beginning, yet he's spent the last couple of years either ignoring it's existence or actively trying to sabotage it. It's to the eternal credit of Vincent, Kate, the LOCI crew and the fans, that up to now, he hadn't managed to get it killed off...Brilliant job there Dick, you're a genuis!

PS: I forgot to mention the remark attributed to Mr Wolf that REALLY sent me off and spinning; it's not about the actors, it's about the stories!! The man is a world-class dumb-ass if he genuinely believes that.

  6. Perfectly worded post Artist..says just what we all feel I think!

I can't remember where I read it but I saw somewhere that NBC is worth BILLIONS...makes their penny pinching seem even more Scroogelike don't you think?

    @Tess...

That is exactly what they think. If it has the "Law and Order" name...you will still watch. They thought they would bring JG in and we would get used to him and still tune in...after all the title is still the same and that's the important part, right?

  8. One more thought: What happened to Vince and Kate happens every day to "normal" people. Employees are losing their jobs, and managers (who are making money like never before) blame it to the economic/finance crisis. At least people like Vincent are still able to feed their own families; millions of unemployed are not.
Needless to say that I, too, want B/E back! But please let's not forget to fight also for all those who have no lobby.

Very true Jazzy....I think that is actually one reason why so many people get upset when these shows get messed with. These characters give us a chance to escape...a chance to get away from all the "real life" where the bad guys don't always get caught. Heck, just messing around with this campaign has given me a chance to not be so focused on my dog with cancer or on the horrific headaches that I get...a chance to escape reality for a short time. A break we all need every once in awhile!

But yes....I totally agree with you. No one on that show is going to go hungry...they make more per episode than I make in 10 years. Urg.

  10. I hope someone over there sees this post, 'cos it says it all.

I wonder how much the Dick is worth? Multi-millions? Hey, you are no spring chicken and YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU.

  11. Yes,they think we're stupid, but they don't know who they are dealing with!
The intent is not criminal: is injust!

  12. I agree with all of the Vixens' analysis of Dick and USA, that they are "fucking bastards." But then I thought, what would Bobby's analysis be? He would study their behavior, make a list of their behavioral traits, and come up with a pschological diagnosis.

So based on Dick's and USA's behavior, here is my list of their behavioral traits: Unreliable, untruthful, deceitful and manipulative, insincere, lack of remorse or guilt, poor judgment, egocentric or inflated view of their own importance, loss of insight, lacking in empathy, taking advantage of others to achieve their own ends.

What do these traits all add up to? Psychopathic personalities with narcissistic tendencies. In other words, fucking bastards!!!

  13. USA Network is really putting the spin control into overdrive. So if nothing else, I'd say we've had some impact. Which does give me some solace, with the final consolation being when the ratings plunge.

  15. After sending emails and postcards and, yes, even a case of "fluff" this past week, I started to think how else can we get USA's attention?

How about focusing on the companies that advertise on LOCI? Letting them know that LOCI with no Goren or Eames means low audience numbers who will be watching their ads. If advertisers start withdrawing, that will hurt NBC and USA right in their greedy pocketbooks!

Campaigns like that have worked on certain Fox News programs this past year. Major companies have stopped advertising on the O'Reilly Factor, Glenn Beck, etc.

Anyway, it's an idea. I'm very desperate these days! Bobby, I could use a hug!!

Have to confess, I almost threw up when confronted with a video of Dick attending the 20th anniversary shin-dig for the Mothership. Since they're so short of money, I guess NBC must have taken out a loan to pay for that??!!

Dear Team 13, could you somehow deface that picture of the grinning Dick, it makes me swear everytime I see it. Thank you so much, with hugs 'n'kisses ;0)

  18. Thank you for this wonderful post. It put everything that has been swirling around, inside my head and inside my guts, right out there in the open for all to see. I could not have said it better myself. Vincent and Erbe ARE the show. Vince is the reason I started to watch LOCI. Not because I love the stories...but because I love the way he acts them out. USA network is gonna get a big bite on the ass by screwing with the best show on TV. How can they think this is cost effective? This is/was? the only show I made time for and followed from beginning to what now seems the end. My only hope now is to be able to somehow follow Vincent as he moves along.
And, to jersey, just love your "Goren" analysis!
