... that I wanted to make a serious post about "The Dangerous Lives Of Altar Boys". Really! But - Father Casey, forgive me - nothing but sinful thoughts came to my mind.
Heheh! What timing! I just rented this film from the video store but didn't get the chance to watch it yet! Nice pics; I prefer Vincent clean-shaven :P but I admit that Father Casey cuts a very good figure in black. :)
If the priest of my local church was like that i could become catholic and practicant in the second!!! Moreover i've lot of naughty thinks and things to confess!! ;-))
The first Cardinal Sin - LUST: one of the seven dealy sins. If mere lust is a threat to a life of eternal damnation, can you imagine what lusting after a Priest will get you. I can feel the flames from the fires of Hell licking at my toes. Dear Dante reserve me a space in the second circle of Hell for I fear that is where I'm headed. Great post. Glad it's Saturday, there is still time during this season of Lent to repent my sins.
I love the story about Vincent shopping for the hat he wears in this picture and how the shopkeeper really thought he was a priest. Isn't that cute?
Hmm, theological discussion lust/covet: I am sure lusting after a real priest with intent would be pretty high up on the scale. Lusting after an actor without intent who happens to be playing the role of a priest - maybe not as much. Lusting after a fictional person without intent - maybe even less. Admiring the beauty of God's creation as long as you do not do so without the regard for their rights or the rights of others - maybe even less! Is there a slide rule for lust?
Ok, some dialogue on God's vs. man's law: cov⋅et [kuhv-it] –verb (used with object) 1. to desire wrongfully, inordinately, or without due regard for the rights of others: to covet another's property.
Anyone think I am reaching way too much for justification here?
If only the Catholic Church would be that understanding. I'm afraid Pope Gregory the Great (6th century) would disagree. His definition of Lust (Latin, Luxuria) was excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature, the abbreviated verison of course. Dante's definition was "excessive love of others; which rendered love and devotion to God as secondary."
In another words if I keep lusting for this man I will never achieve "grace." Okay another goal I'll never achieve. Let the lusting continue.
Jazzy - I bet you never thought your post would start a theological discussion, did you?
to join the deep debate, here is my contribution (like it or not): i met priests and nuns who did more "sins" than anyone else. in my eyes, religion is a poisoner of western culture.
Have to agree with Jazzy on this one. No religion, so no guilt. Hee. By the way, I had sex with a priest in a jacuzzi once ... years ago ... at a wild party. Of course, I didn't find out he was a priest until I got out of the jacuzzi and my friends were chuckling ... bitches! LOL. Too bad he wasn't half as irresistable as Father Casey!
Just had to answer this question from VDO'O to me: Witness, has anyone ever told you that sometimes you put way too much thought into things?? *LOL*
Funny, for some reason I hear that ALL THE FREAKING TIME!
I think my favorite playground would be Bobby Goren's mind! It's Sunday so I will stop there!
But for now I am off to a Spring Training game! Love it in Arizona - right now the temp is 74 so it should be a great day to watch the pro Baseball players run around!

ReplyDeleteI need to sit on his lap and 'confess'!
ReplyDeleteIf the priest of my local church was like that i could become catholic and practicant in the second!!!

It would be a SIN for that man to be celibate...
ReplyDeleteJazzy,
ReplyDeleteHow could you?
I managed to make it through the movie without my thoughts going there but these caps..., ugh!
How can I confess this to my 65+ year old priest?
He may have heard a lot but something like this - I wouldn't even know where to begin!
YIIPPEE!!! My password is still working!!! Although it took 5 tries. (jazzy & artist know what I'm talking about)
ReplyDeleteThe thoughts that I had concerning me, Father Casey, and the confessional....
Let's just say I'm glad I'm not Catholic or I'd be on a fast train straight to hell about now.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph......the pic with the "8 Ball".
ReplyDeleteI ain't Catholic but, I confess, I confess, I confess........
If there were more Father Caseys.....shit, I'm speechless!!
Gives new meaning to MIB. Save me a seat on the "Highway to Hell" !!!!!

ReplyDeleteI can't believe Vincent as a priest - not because of his lack of acting ability in the role, but because he is too HHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTT to be a priest.
ReplyDeleteI know Val, men who look that good DO NOT need to be celebate.

I think we can all agree that we lost out on our chance at saint hood the day we first saw VDO.
ReplyDeleteWell said VDO'O.

ReplyDeleteWe Vixens are only human, and Vincent IS the Sex God and, therefore, very lustable...so we're only doing what comes naturally!
ReplyDeleteArtist, I'm not interested in 'achieving grace' - I just want to achieve having sex with Vincent!
Jersey - Sex with Vincent is indeed a worthy goal. One I also fear I'll never achieve. Maybe I should write a new set of goals?
ReplyDeleteJust had to answer this question from VDO'O to me: Witness, has anyone ever told you that sometimes you put way too much thought into things?? *LOL*

Artist, I don't believe I'll ever achieve that goal either. But it's so much fun to dream...
ReplyDeleteJersey - I couldn't agree more. He fills my thoughts 24/7. Like the song says (Dream) "dream and they might come true."
