LO:CI Pushed Back to Summer 2009

New episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent won't air until summer 2009
, according to a USA Network spokesperson, the second such delay in four months. The eighth season was initially scheduled to debut in November 2008, just three months after Season 7 aired.

Then, in October, the netlet announced the season would shift to early 2009, presumably January, so they could air all 16 episodes in a row — the same reason they cite for this latest push-back.

Season 8 is notable for its casting changes. Chris Noth (Sex and the City), who played Det. Mike Logan, left the show after three seasons, and has been replaced by the Oscar- and Emmy-nominated actor Jeff Goldblum, who plays Det. Zach Nichols. Preview scenes sent to TV critics in the fall showed that Goldblum's performance departed from the stammering intellectual roles for which he is generally known (The Fly, Independence Day, The Big Chill).

The show's spokesperson said that Goldblum's arrival, however, was not responsible for the delays.

  4. OK WTF?!?! This is getting ridiculous! After all this they BETTER not cancel the show! You don't think they will, do you?? That's my biggest fear, that they just won't air it AT ALL, or that they'll cancel it after this year b/c of all the trouble they had in S8. I'm starting to go through SERIOUS withdrawal!

Question, I clicked on that link and one of the comments on there said
"Oh, and then there's The D'Onofrio Factor" What is that supposed to mean??

    Thanks for letting me vent.

All I can say is I'm totally GUTTED, my heart is in my boots, but trying to remember we WILL get an 8th year. There's no way USA would pay out good money for those episodes already filmed - and Vincent & Kate should start again on Tuesday - and not show them...unless the network really is being run (I use the term loosely) by a bunch of nutters!

  8. I'd better try and have some more dreams.

If you go back, Tricia, you will see some elaboration on the "D'Onofrio Factor", including one by me, which puts ShutUpRob where he belongs - firmly shut up.

  9. Disappointing, to say the least. I have to wonder if USA is not trying to sabotage its own show!

  10. WTF?!?!? You have GOT to be shi***** me! If they are even THINKING of cancelling I am afraid i will have to unleash HELL upon them. DOn't they remember what kind of gr8 numbers it had. How it was so popular that NBC had to use them when they had claimed they wouldn't. Sorry for the RANT. I'll go off and mumble to myself in the corner now!

I LOVED what you said to Rob...LOL that was great! I can't believe there are actually people in this world who don't LOVE Vincent? Honestly, it makes my head hurt just trying to figure that out!

  12. Jen,
I agree! IF they even THINK about canceling, we should all get together and storm the station!! I want the last thing those butt wipes at USA ever see to be a bunch of pissed off Vixens coming at them! Of course we would all be arrested for murder, but I think it would be well worth it. LOL

  13. it seems to me, those who are responsible for that, are not clever business-men.

  14. Are you trying to make me cry. The TV guide has L&O:CI listed on NBC for Feb. 7 so I went on the NBC.com site and it indeed has L&O:CI scheduled for Feb 7 @ 8:00 with a note that season 8 will begin soon. Is this all one big lie. I don't know if I can hold out that long. Sigh.... crawls off to dig hole in ground to hide in until CI begins again.
