Addiction

..... Hello, My name is Jen and I'm a D'Onofrio Addict.....

Photobucket

Let me explain myself. The other day while I was drooling over jazzy's brilliant 'Sex Tips' post my hubbie came by and chuckled.
Startled because I had no idea he was even in the room. (I tend to blank out on anyone else when i see gr8 posts!) I looked up at him and he pointed to the screen and said. "You know they sent David Duchovny to rehab for an addiction like that. Might have to set all of you up for a 12 step program." and then he walked away.
I had a moment of huh?! Vixens are addicts? No way! Then I had to think about it.....

By definition addiction means an obsessive, compulsive, or excessive physical or psychological dependence on something. Medically speaking addiction is considered a state in which the body relies on a substance for normal functioning and develops a physical dependence on said substance. If that substance is suddenly removed it will cause withdrawl.

Knowing these facts I was compelled to make a list of five questions and verify if I was truly a D'Onofrio Addict.

1. Do you have an obsession with this man?
Yup.

Photobucket

2. Do you have a compulsive need to not only see everything this man has acted in but own it on DVD as well?
Yes again!

Photobucket

3. Do you have an excessive physical or psychological dependence on seeing anything about this man on a daily basis?
Beginning to see a trend here!

Photobucket

4. If you do not see this man daily are you able to focus on your normal activities?
That would be a NO big time.

Photobucket

And finally...

5. Are you able to go several days without checking our blogs,
watching LOCI or even a glimpse of one of his many movies?

Photobucket

Nope that's completely an impossibility! You could die from that kind of thing!

As I looked over my answers it was clear. My hubbie's diagnosis was correct. So I stand before you vixens without shame, regret or desire to change. I fully embrace my vice...

Hello, I'm jen and I'm a D'Onofrio Addict.
If you could answer any of the 5 question differently then you are a stronger more iron willed person than I.
Thanks for listening.

Alas. There is no rehab because it would be constant sessions trying to cure the addiction for all the various characters we enjoy. Then a new one would just come along and we'd be back where we started. Who want's a lifetime commitment to rehab anyway. I'd rather just live with it!

  12. They say our 'addiction' is easier when it's shared with peers. I feel so much better about my need for Noff now. Thanks to all of you for sharing your addiction with me.

jazzy you know we'd just be in the rehab and have dvds hidden in our luggage!

drl59 I promise that the rest of us will watch double the vdo while you are suffering. We will keep you in our thoughts.

  16. It's an addiction ... that has apparently become an epidemic! But if it feels so good, how can it be wrong?! I know for absolute certainty that this addiction was NOT the cause of my job-loss (my boss ran out of money to pay me) and I have no side-effects. So what's the harm? And like I always say ... safety in numbers ... safety in numbers ...

  17. Hello my fellow Vixens ... need I remind you ... with a Vincent addiction it would be a 13 step program!
No worries girls, there is no cure... I've had this "addiction" for approximately twenty years now. It won't kill ya! Only if we meet him ... I know I would keel!
Great post Jen ... Loved It and yes, My name is Judy and I'm am ...

  18. I admit it, I'm a hopeless addict when it comes to VDO.

But there's a difference between us and David Duchovny: he was addicted to Internet porn.

I compare our addiction to someone who constantly visits Florence, Italy, to see Michelangelo's David...they stand in awe at his beauty, the perfection, the sensuality. That's what we do, except we sit in front of our TVs and computers and are awed by Vincent's beauty, perfection and sensuality.

(There is one difference between us, tho...the person in Florence doesn't dream of having wild, uninhibited sex with David every night!)

  19. I am completely addicted, I've tried others - no good. NO ONE compares with VDO.I don't want or need a cure. In my world he is the Alpha and the Omega - the beginning & the end.
